The —Matt—Baseline— Band
Meet the Musicians
We believe that live music can spark connection and hope. Get to know the people behind the sound . . .
Hi there,
glad you are here.
I’m Robin and i play drums and percussion for —Matt—Baseline—.
I love about this project that i can combine the passion and energy of my drumming
and my interest in Mental Health and sharing some bits of my own healing journey through our music.
Sourcing from a vast variety of different genres and drummers that i love to listen to,
I create the stable ground of groove in the band.
Being in —Matt—Baseline— has given me so much musical and personal growth that i love to tell the world about our music that inspires, heals and connects.
Come to one of our shows and say Hi.
Looking forward!
Reinhard plays lead guitar with —Matt—Baseline— and also works as a guitarist and bass player for various live and studio projects. He also creates his own instrumental music under the name Metal Surfer. Rock and metal have always been his musical home, but he especially loves connecting them with other styles.
That’s exactly what he enjoys about —Matt—Baseline—: melodic rock that gives him room to bring in funky, country and metal influences. Most of all, he is proud to be part of a band that gives mental health a strong musical voice for everyone.
My name is Florian Giesa, and I am a member of —Matt—Baseline—.
In the band, I play electric cello, using effects to create a wide variety of sounds — from chords, basslines and harmonics to soaring melodies.
One of my defining musical influences is Eicca Toppinen, leader of the Finnish cello metal band Apocalyptica. His talent, curiosity and innovation continue to inspire me. Like Eicca, who began as a classical cellist before venturing into new musical worlds, I strive to explore and push the boundaries of what the cello can do.
My personal connection to the band’s mission comes from two passions: my love of rock music and a deep belief in the power of music to support Mental Health, inspire and connect people.
Benji on bass guitar is a groove enthusiast who loves being the solid foundation of both the music and the band.
Over the years, he has played in several projects across a variety of genres.
He’s a strong believer that playing bass is also a mindset—finding the perfect balance between rhythm and harmony.
Since mental health is also very much about balance, it feels like a natural fit to bring this mindset into the music of —Matt—Baseline—
—Matt—Baseline— is an Australian-born singer-songwriter based in Salzburg, Austria, with musical roots in the raw energy and honesty of the 1980s pub-rock scene. His music draws on lived experience, exploring struggle, relationships, vulnerability, recovery and the search for a more meaningful life.
After more than two decades of writing and performing, Matt increasingly uses music as a way to open conversations about Mental Health — not by pretending to have all the answers, but by sharing honestly what it means to keep moving through life’s highs and lows.
As founder of ROCK for Mental Health 🩵, he brings together music and advocacy with a simple belief: music can inspire, heal and connect.
