About
The person behind the music . . .
More Than Music. A Mission Fueled by Lived Experience.
Music shaped by lived experience.
Australian-born and based in Salzburg, Austria, —Matt—Baseline— is a singer-songwriter whose music combines the raw energy of his ’80s Australian pub-rock roots with honest, emotionally driven songwriting.
Music has been a constant throughout Matt’s life — through relationships, change, struggle and recovery. After living with bipolar disorder for more than 25 years, those experiences have naturally found their way into his songs.
Rather than hiding the difficult chapters, Matt writes about them openly — exploring vulnerability, connection, resilience and the search for a way forward.
Today, music and Mental Health advocacy sit side by side in his work: songs first, but songs with something to say.

From Music to Advocacy
For Matt, Mental Health advocacy grew naturally from lived experience and music.
After more than 25 years of living with bipolar disorder, songwriting became a way to express difficult experiences and open honest conversations. Performing in Mental Health settings around Salzburg showed how music could connect people beyond labels and diagnoses.
That journey ultimately inspired ROCK for Mental Health 🩵 — bringing music, lived experience and community together to make Mental Health easier to talk about.
Music That Connects
Â
Whether on stage, at a community event or performing in a Mental Health setting, the aim remains the same: to create genuine connection through music.
Every song is an opportunity to start a conversation, share an experience and remind us that Mental Health is part of all our lives.
What began through music has grown into an independent initiative bringing artists, Mental Health organisations and communities together.
Music that Inspires, Heals and Connects.
